Floating Notes

Google Drive Sync and Data Controls

How optional Pro sync works in Floating Notes 2.0

Limited Use: Floating Notes' use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Why Floating Notes Requests Google Drive Access

Google Drive sync is optional. Floating Notes requests Drive access only when you choose to enable sync. The free local mode does not require a Google account or Drive access.

Floating Notes uses the Google Drive drive.file scope to create, read, update, and delete Floating Notes files that the app creates or that you explicitly open with the app. We use this access to sync your notes between your own browsers/devices.

Where Your Notes Live

Token Handling

Our account backend stores encrypted Google refresh tokens after you enable Drive sync. The extension requests short-lived access tokens from our backend and then communicates directly with Google Drive. Disconnecting Drive removes the stored token from our backend.
