The Floating Notes browser extension:
- Stores all data locally in your browser using Chrome's built-in storage (chrome.storage.local)

- Does not collect any personal information, browsing history, or usage analytics
- Does not require an account or registration
- Works entirely offline after installation
Your notes never leave your device. We have no ability to read, access, or recover your notes.
The Website (floatingnotes.app)
Our website is separate from the extension and operates independently.
Install Tracking
When the extension is installed and opens our welcome page, we record:
- A timestamp of the page visit
- No personal information is collected or stored
This helps us understand how many people install the extension. We do not use cookies or third-party analytics services.
Server Logs
Like most websites, our web server may automatically log standard technical information including IP addresses. These logs are used solely for security and troubleshooting purposes and are periodically deleted.
